Today we took our annual field trip to The Art Barn at Morning Glory Farm. As always, we had a wonderful time exploring the barnyard and Farmer Sue and her 'farm team' were fabulous! We started the day hearing a little bit about the farm and how special all the animals are. Then it was time to go into the barnyard. The children loved brushing the animals. We also got to see some bees and learn about how they help flowers, fruits and vegetables grow. It was very interesting to observe the bees in action. The children also got to look at and touch a real honeycomb! After that we went on a tractor ride. It started to rain a little, but luckily it passed quickly and we were able to keep enjoying our trip. After the tractor ride, it was time to paint. Everyone had fun creating a baaaaa-utiful sheep! After a picnic under the magnolia trees, we were able to go back into the barn yard to hold baby chicks and pet baby ducks. A few eggs were found in the hen house! A great time was had by all, even our youngest friends really enjoyed the fun. Her smile says it all! Thank you, Farmer Sue! Cross of Life Montessori loves you and we can't wait to see you again soon!
